In a move to avoid hiring new people and paying more salaries, Hearst Digital's SVP and general manager Chuck Cordray increased the responsibilities of his web team. This shuffle is supposed to show Hearst's commitment to growing and expanding its digital properties. However it is not clear how this slew of promotions will help expand their digital properties. The only expansion we see, and even Cordray says it, are the rolls of his team members. But he is confident each of them will shine in their new roll. So shine on boys and girls, shine on.

"They have all been instrumental in making our online business a success and weĆ¢€™re confident that they will shine in their new roles."
