It's not just Time Inc that is going under the knife trying to remake itself. Other companies like Hearst have also been making major changes like eliminating the role of publisher among other things. Next up to announce some major changes will be Time Inc neighbor Conde Nast which according to WWD has hired advisory firm MediaLink -aka- the “shadowy overlords” to help it roll out a new structure for the company. Following in the footsteps of Time Inc and Hearst, Conde Nast could reduce its number of Publishers as part of a major reorg and even name a defacto number two to CEO Bob Sauerberg. Whatever the plans are, some heads are expected to roll before or during the upcoming Holidays. Publishers have been in consolidation mode trying to position themselves to be more nimble on the ever changing digital stage. The major changes announced at Time Inc, Hearst, and soon Conde Nast, is only the beginning.
