We called it. Rich Battista is Time Inc's New CEO
Two months ago we predicted that Rich Battista was bring put on the path to being Time Inc's next CEO. What we didn't know was that it would happen so soon. Mr. Battista who this week oversaw the launch of the People/EW video streaming network, has been elevated to President/CEO of the whole ship and we think it's a Sunny day at Time Inc.
“I am thrilled and honored to lead this great organization and its exceptionally talented employees, particularly as we aggressively move to unlock the enormous potential of our brands across the media landscape. During this dynamic time in media, we are transforming Time Inc. to a cross-media company and are uniquely positioned to leverage our brands, scale, data and insights to significantly grow new lines of business in service to advertisers, marketers and consumers. I am eager to get started and to win.”
Time Inc. has picked Rich Battista, a former longtime Fox TV exec, as its new president and CEO as the media company sets its sights on cranking up its digital and video businesses to offset print revenue declines. Battista, who had been executive VP of Time Inc. and president of brands, succeeds Joe Ripp as CEO. Ripp will continue to as executive chairman; in addition, Battista will join Time Inc.’s board.
