Apple is Being Urged to Make a Rival Bid For Time Warner

APPLE CEO TIM COOK
AT&T may not have Time Warner in the bag just yet. Last week the telecom giant announced that it was acquiring the media/entertainment giant for $85 billion. The deal will need to go through heavy government scrutiny before it closes so nothing is concrete just yet. Which means another bidder can swoop in and give AT&T some serious competition. Apple could be that rival bidder if some people have their way. Apple which has expressed interest in Time Warner in the past is being urged by Goldman Sachs to make a rival bid for the company which would turn last week's blockbuster deal announcement on its side, with Apple's massive cash stockpile and all. Apple CEO Tim Cook seems eager to dip into the company's cash reserves to make a big splashy acquisition, but the question is what?
