Woven Digital Pink Slips Nearly Two Dozen Following Traffic Decline and Redundancies

Woven Digital which publishes sites like Uproxx, BroBilbe and others, laid off about 20 people following an 8% decline in network traffic and the acquisition of HitFix which the company said lead to some staff redundancies with Uproxx. Other staffers in tech, editorial, management and
sales were also included in the headcount reduction.
Woven Digital has aspirations to be one of the leading digital media conglomerates, though it has plenty of competition. The company's collection of brands brought in 36.2 million U.S. multiplatform unique visitors in August, an 8% year-over-year decline, according to ComScore data. In comparison, Vox Media had 69.6 million U.S. multiplatform unique visitors in August and Vice Media had just over 69 million.
