Sports Illustrated Goes to Press Early With Historic Chicago Cubs World Series Win Cover
On the heels of Wednesday night’s historic victory for the Chicago Cubs in Game 7 of the 2016 World Series, Sports Illustrated has accelerated its regular production schedule to release the new cover of SI almost a full week early. The new cover is live now on SI.com and SI’s social media channels and features an image of Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs taken just hours ago as they became world champions. The cover line reads, "ALL THE WAY.” Sports Illustrated has also moved up the full publication of this week’s issue, with copies of the magazine scheduled to begin hitting newsstands and subscribers as early as this Saturday and rolling out nationwide over the coming week. The special early issue of SI delivers a range of coverage of the monumental first World Series title for the team since 1908, including a cover story by SI's Tom Verducci with the headline, “Chicago Has a New G.O.A.T."
