Another One Out at Time Inc, Lisa And StyleWatch "Arbetter" Off Apart

Stylewatch editor in chief Lisa Arbetter is leaving the publication at the end of the year after about two years in the role. She is leaving to launch her own business. No word on what that it but we wouldn't be shocked if it was a digital media start up. Taking her spot in the interim will be executive editor Bethany Heitman. This comes at a time when many speculations,  and unknowns surround Time Inc. The company has been in makeover mode in an effort to better position itself on the digital stage to compete with digital natives like Buzzfeed, Vox and others. This departure also comes at a time when the company may or may not be on the block. Under Ms. Arbetter StyleWatch went under the knife where she introduced bigger images of affordable fashions for the everyday woman. She also shifted the magazine from its celebrity style focus to everyday street style. The makeover also included an interactive feature where readers could download the Blippar app to scan the pages of Stylewatch for bonus content.

Here's Ms. Arbetter's statement on her departure:
“In today’s evolving media landscape, being an editor fosters an entrepreneurial spirit. I have greatly enjoyed working with the StyleWatch team and expanding the brand into new territories, but the time has come for me to explore the idea of starting my own business. I feel confident leaving Bethany Heitman at the helm, with her digital savvy and deep knowledge of the StyleWatch consumer.”
