BLOOMBERG MEDIA NAMES TEDDY LYNN
GLOBAL CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER

New York, December 1st, 2016 – Bloomberg Media today announced it has appointed Teddy Lynn to the role of Global Chief Creative Officer. Lynn, who most recently served as Ogilvy & Mather’s North American Chief Creative Officer of Content & Social, will lead Bloomberg Media’s global creative team, which develops and creates custom executions for brands desiring to reach a premium audience. Lynn will report to Bloomberg Media COO Jacki Kelley. He starts early next year and will be based in New York.

Lynn’s team will include creatives, editors, copywriters, designers and producers who build campaigns and experiences for brands that support Bloomberg Media’s advertising and marketing services initiatives. His remit will also include defining and sourcing feature content to expand Bloomberg Media’s influence, reach and revenue.

“As we close out the year with expected strong revenue growth, in 2017 we are launching ambitious plans to expand our creative, marketing services and custom content capabilities,” said Bloomberg Media CEO Justin B. Smith.

“Teddy is unique in his ability to strategically connect with an audience through compelling content,” said Kelley. “His varied background – which includes producing award-winning films, television and advertising as well having worked at Morgan Stanley – illustrates his ability to use powerful storytelling to drive business results. This is a tremendous coup for our organization as we grow our content offerings and client solutions.”

“I have been lucky to work with a great team and great clients at Ogilvy, but Bloomberg Media’s platform and aspirations will allow me to connect so many of my passions and experiences in a way no other role could," said Lynn.

Over the course of his career, Lynn, who holds a BA from Stanford and a MBA from The Anderson School at UCLA, has launched content offerings at Arnold Worldwide, UM, BBDO and Mediabrands and has created effective and award-winning work on behalf of clients such as IBM, AT&T, Walmart, NASCAR, Charles Schwab and Microsoft. Before dedicating himself to advertising, Lynn was a producer of film, television and music videos. Among his numerous production credits is “Pleasantville”, which starred Tobey Maguire and Reese Witherspoon and was nominated for three Academy Awards. Lynn also recently produced “Lifeline,” Ogilvy’s award-winning short film for Qualcomm and “Not Easy,” IBM Watson’s recent hit musical collaboration with Alex Da Kid.

Lynn’s appointment comes on the heels of Bloomberg Media’s announcement in October to expand its marketing services capabilities with the hiring of agency veteran Steven Feuling from Dentsu Aegis. Bloomberg Media is building a sophisticated team to infuse agency expertise into its executions with the intent to become the leading partner to B2B clients around the world and those aiming to reach a premium audience at scale across every platform.

Bloomberg Media has set out to build the leading global business and financial media company, and in the last two years has transformed its product portfolio, defined its audience and refined its approach to advertising sales. Under Smith and Kelley's leadership, the sales structure has undergone a critical evolution into a global multi-platform selling organization. As a result, Bloomberg Media's global advertising revenue has grown more than 8% year-to-date through the end of September, compared to the same time period last year.
