Bounced Checks, E-Commerce Dreams and Continued Financial Chaos at The Skeletal Louise Blouin Media

At what point will Louise Blouin, the millionaire owner of Blouin Media Corp which publishes Artinfo.com, Modern Painters, Art+Auction and other art world products, cut her losses and exit the media business? For years the company has been struggling to stay afloat barely hanging on by the owner's ego. The most recent troubles at the company which includes bounced employee checks and a skeletal admin staff  is nothing new. It is now the norm at the embattled company whose owner was once listed as one of the richest women in Canada. She currently has her massive South Hampton beach compound listed for sale at a reported $100 million and is believed to keep other multi-million homes around the world. All this must be comforting for some of her employees who live check to check working hard to make ends meet. But not to worry, the solution to this lack of cash to pay employees and pay the company's bills is a soon to be launched e-commerce effort called 'BlouinShop.com', an online shopping destination curated by her editors for the "Discerning Shopper". According to the New York Post  Ms. Blouin is said to be fixated on her new online store believing it is going to make "everyone" rich. She's been running ads in her magazines promoting the store's launch since last year.
