Wenner Media which has been shopping its celebrity weekly to companies like Vice Media. Reluctantly settled on tabloid publisher American Media Inc to take over the title. Wenner boss Jann Wenner was so desperate for AMI to buy the title that US Weekly even started publishing pro Donald Trump covers to appease AMI boss David Pecker who is close with Trump. But according to a tipster it looks like those measures weren't enough to convince Mr. Pecker to buy the magazine because the deal is now off. No word on why the deal is off, but it's probably related to finances. Perhaps Wenner's asking price was too rich for AMI or AMI decided it had enough celebrity weeklies or Jann Wenner listened to the cries of his staff at US Weekly who were all worried about being sucked into the AMI machine which they believed would've killed US Weekly's credibility.
