Conde Nast Expands Its Social Media Audience Targeting Capabilities With Acquisition of CitizenNet

Conde Nast just upped its social media game with the acquisition of social data and marketing platform CitizenNet to bolster its data group Conde Nast Spire.  This will allow Conde Nast's marketing and advertising partners to reach the audiences they desire across multiple platforms. For now the entire CitizenNet team of 40 people will remain intact at the company's Los Angeles based offices and continue to serve its current roster of clients. This acquisition comes as rumors remain steady but thin about a possible sale of Conde Nast. The company has been remaking its business operations under the direction of Chief Business Officer Jim Norton. It also follows behind news that the company entered talks with Eldridge Industries a few months back about buying The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard magazine. But discussions about a possible deal came to a halt when Conde Nast balked at the asking price. However according to people close to those negotiations, talks are expected to resume as Eldridge is still looking to unload the titles.
