Popular Science Installs Wired's Joe Brown as Editor in Chief

Popular Science has a new editor in chief and his name is Joe Brown and he's from Wired.com where he served as Executive Editor. Prior to that Mr. Brown served as Editor in Chief of Gawker Media's Gizmodo. And before all of those, Joe Brown was an assistant editor at Popular Science back in 2002. So this as they like to say is a homecoming for Mr. Brown.

Here are the nice things everyone involved had to say about each other and Popular Science:
“We are thrilled to welcome Joe back to Popular Science,” said Gregory Gatto, VP & Publishing Director, Lifestyle Group, Bonnier Corp. “He has exactly the qualities we sought out for the leader of the brand: a nose for a great story, strong leadership, and a wealth of experience elegantly handling website strategy and digital operations.”

Popular Science has always been an important place for me as a journalist and reader, and I’m so looking forward to returning as editor,” said Brown. “It’s a legendary brand, and I’m humbled to be entrusted with its care.”

“Joe’s insatiable curiosity about how science and technology impact our lives drives his terrific work,” said Anthony Licata, Editorial Director of the Bonnier Lifestyle Group. “I cannot wait for him to bring his skills and vision to Popular Science’s 15+ million print, digital and social audience.”
