Magazine Publishers Increasing Cover Prices to Fill Crater Caused By The Continued Collapse of Newsstand Sales
Sales have dropped yet again, off 6.1 percent during the second quarter of this year. That’s about the same as first quarter and fourth quarter 2015, which averaged a 6.3 percent decline. But MagNet noted something interesting. It says the average cover price per magazine sold has risen from $5.28 during the first half of last year to $5.55 during the first half of this year.
