CBS and Time Warner Flirted With Each Other Before AT&T Came in And Stole The Show

CBS wowed Wall Street yesterday with a strong third quarter performance. But then it wowed them and media watchers even more when it revealed that just weeks before AT&T came in and scooped up Time Warner, it too held talks with the entertainment giant about a merger. OK so this isn't news because it was rumored that Mr. Moonves was more interested in joining up with Time Warner than Viacom two months ago. However Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes wasn't sold on merging with a company just like his. He had his sights set on joining up with a company who can distribute Time Warner's content to the masses and CBS wasn't that company. So now CBS CEO Les Moonves is stuck with Viacom. He revealed that both companies are in the early stages of re-merger talks.
