CNN Boss Jeff Zucker's Plan? Grow Digital Into a $1 Billion Business And be Amused by Donald Trump

CNN BOSS JEFF ZUCKER
CNN president Jeff Zucker is not someone who is shy about challenges. After all he went from Today Show executive producer to CEO of one of the biggest media companies on the planet NBC-Universal. Today Mr. Zucker runs Time Warner's CNN, the grand daddy of cable news networks and he's focused. Sure the President takes shots at his network by calling them fake news. The President even takes credit for getting him the top job at CNN. But Zucker is un bothered. Today he is focused on nurturing and growing CNN's current talent and introducing us to new ones. He's also hell bent on growing CNN's digital business into a $1 billion operation. He's been bringing on talent to help in this effort too. Last year he hired away Buzzfeed's K-File investigative team.  Mr. Zucker along with four of his on air talents, cover the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter with the headline "CNN's New War". Here are some excerpts from the feature:
Zucker on his mandate to grow CNN's digital revenue into a $1 billion business in five years:"We have hired some 250 new people in digital over the course of the last year," says Zucker. "I would actually argue that outside of the Silicon Valley pure-digital plays, this is the most successful legacy media company in digital without question."

Zucker on whether it bothers him that President Trump likes to take credit for getting him his CNN job:"Not in the least. We all know the truth, so it's just amusing"
