Daily Beast Founding Editor Jane Spencer Joins Fusion to Edit Digital Things

Jane Spencer, one of the founding editors of The Daily Beast, has landed on her feet at Fusion. Ms. Spencer will serve as the online/television venture's editor in chief of digital content. Her hiring follows behind other major digital hires like Felix Salmon and Jezebel.com founder Anna Holmes. Ms. Spencer is looking forward to stalking people on social media and messaging apps.

“What I am most excited about is building a media property for the most ethnically, racially diverse generation — an audience that is underserved,” she said in a telephone interview. “We are going to the platforms where they spend their time — Instagram, Vine, Twitter, even messaging apps.”
