American Media Inc has missed yet another Financial Statement Filing Deadline, not that it will be another to pop champagne about. But why is this incompetence being tolerated by the AMI board?

The company, which is carrying about $1 billion in debt and has been struggling with declining newsstand sales for both of its flagship tabloids Star and the National Enquirer, has repeatedly asked to move deadlines on its financial statements over the past year.

AMI needs to be slapped into shape and Dave Pecker is not the man to do that. New blood is needed at AMI and we don't mean someone from within, we mean new new blood from outside with new ideas, and a more strict financial sense.
