100 Bodies to Be Cut From Conde Nast's Payroll Over The Next Few Weeks

THE COMPANY IS STILL UNDERGOING A MAKEOVER IMPLEMENTED BY CHIEF BUSINESS OFFICER JIM NORTON

Conde Nast continues to reshape its business operations. Following a major restructuring lead by chief business officer Jim Norton just a month ago where the publisher title was eliminated in favor of chief business officers and individuals who served as publishers were given the title of chief industry officers.  The company is about to enter the next phase in its makeover where 100 jobs are expected to be eliminated in the coming weeks. This move is part of a plan laid out by Mr. Norton when he first arrived at the company and signed off on by the boss, CEO Robert Sauerberg. Conde Nast like other magazine media companies has been shaking things up in an effort to be more nimble and offer more cross brand/platform opportunities for its ad partners. This follows news last week that Conde Nast was slow to embrace digital when the industry was taking the turn. Instead they continued to push print and only utilized its websites to promote subscription offers for the print products. As far as those employees who will be shown the door, the company's HR department has already sent out an email letting staffers in the marketing and sales dept know that jobs will be posted and they should apply.
